Get Your MRI’s Close to Home

Did you know you could get your MRI’s done right here in Bloomfield? Ask to have your MRI close to home at Davis County Hospital (DCH).

An MRI (or magnetic resonance imaging) scan is a test that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce images of body structures. MRI’s can be needed for a variety of reasons including joint pain, back pain, injuries, hearing problems, stroke-like symptoms, and many more.

Oftentimes a specialist or other doctor outside of town, will schedule you for an MRI at their facility. It may be necessary in rare cases, but most of the time they will allow you to have the MRI in your hometown; all you need to do is ask. DCH has our own industry standard 1.5 Tesla GE magnet inside the hospital, where we are able to get superior images compared to a lower powered magnet which you often see with open MRI machines. Not only is the machine located conveniently in our hospital, we also have a board certified MRI Technologist that can tailor scanning protocols to meet your needs. A CD with the images can be sent with you the same day as your exam or mailed to your physician within 24 hours.

“MRI has proven to be a very effective clinical tool that is used to diagnose diseases in all parts of the human body.  At Davis County Hospital, they’re fortunate to have a state-of-the-art MR unit that is manned by a well-trained team of experts.  The quality of the MRI examination images performed at Davis County Hospital is on par with anywhere in the country,” Dr. William Young – head Radiologist at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
