Davis County Hospital & Clinics Skilled Care services — formerly known as Swing Bed services — provide an important recovery option for patients who have recently been hospitalized but need additional medical care before safely returning home.
Skilled Care is designed for individuals who may have physical limitations or medical conditions that cannot yet be managed at home or through outpatient services. Our goal is to help patients regain strength, restore independence, and transition home with confidence.
Comprehensive Skilled Nursing Care
Our skilled care program offers short-term, hospital-based care with access to clinical services when needed. Each patient receives individualized treatment developed in collaboration with their provider and support system.

Low nurse-to-patient ratios for personalized attention
Patients stay in private rooms and have access to our on-site pharmacy and hospital resources to ensure high-quality care throughout their recovery.
Rehabilitation Services
We offer on-site rehabilitation services to help patients rebuild strength and independence, including:

Physical Therapy (PT) to improve mobility, strength, and balance

Occupational Therapy (OT) to enhance daily living skills and functional independence

Speech Therapy for communication, cognition, and swallowing support
We proudly partner with Kincart Physical Therapy, our trusted rehabilitation provider, to deliver personalized therapy plans tailored to each patient’s recovery goals.
IV Antibiotic & Infusion Therapy
DCHC also provides IV antibiotic and infusion therapy within our Skilled Care setting for patients who require multiple doses throughout the day and ongoing medical monitoring.
This service allows patients to receive necessary intravenous medications close to home, helping reduce the need for extended hospital stays or travel to larger facilities. All IV therapy is overseen by our skilled nursing team and coordinated with your provider to ensure safe, effective treatment.
